R.I.P. stripey $5 sweater from previous entry...
Our lives intersected for only a short time, but I hope you can continue to live happily in the arms of the homeless person or tourist who picked you up outside Federal Triangle in D.C. this sunny afternoon...
I'm sorry I forgot about you. You were always lovely to me and my outfits.
My only consolation is that I just ordered a faux leather blazer from UO originally priced at $128 for $9. As one steeply discounted jacket item leaves, another one comes. Or at least I hope this is how it works always looolll.

POST !!!!! TEST !!!!!!
I should use this opportunity to express that I have absolutely no compunction about shopping at Target, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, TJ Maxx, or any other hideous, corporate-giant factory store. I do, however, have compunction about OVERPAYING at those named on the list above. Remember, $20 limit.
Anyway this is what I wore today, luvahhhs:

SHOES: black heels; PAYLESS - $19.99
damn you blurred image!!! BELT: black satin threaded through a chain; URBAN OUTFITTERS: $10 (clearance!)

JEANS: grey acid wash skinny; MACY'S.com: $19.99 on sale
SWEATER: striped!; H&M: $5 clearance
SHIRT: ...this one's an oldie that's been sitting in my closet for awhile, but as I recall it's from Charlotte Russe, for $15
It's funny, when skinny jeans first started coming back a few years ago, I was like "I will NEVER be caught dead in those." And yet not only do I know own skinny jeans, but acid wash skinny jeans. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Or developed their taste. Take your pick.
I've also been a bit afraid of the hip-exaggeration of the blouse, what with how the sides of it come down so long, but the belt really helps emphasize...other bits.
PEACE OUT YO.

Welcome to $19.99, a recession-era fashion blog about ready-to-wear styles for those who can appreciate a good look on an even better budget.
ABOUT ME: I am a paycheck-to-paycheck, debt-saddled college student living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, New York. To exacerbate matters, I'm a design student, so I will probably never be rich enough to afford those bookmarked Louboutins or any other exorbitant(ly priced) designer brand.
HOWEVER, I have an unusual talent, one that has carried me stylishly through many a gala and picnic alike.
And that talent is finding mind-blowingly cheap clothing.
So, in this era of the foreclosure, bankruptcy, and unemployment, I have decided (with some outside encouragement) to show the world my style in a fashion blog, with one simple rule:
Every individual piece featured in this blog must have been bought for $20 or less.
Without further ado, here is my new blog!!!
